There are plenty of options depending on your personal goals and needs. There are plenty of savings accounts in the market but the most common ones you might come across include fixed rate accounts and easy access accounts.

All UK residents aged 18 years and over, who have a UK mobile phone, email address and a UK bank account are eligible. We only offer sole accounts, so for example, you won’t be able to open a joint account with a family member or friend.

Different types of savings accounts can have different features. Broadly, when you deposit money into an interest-earning account, your money grows with that interest, and then you earn more money through the magic of compound interest. For example, if you deposit £10 and earn £1 then you’ll start earning interest on £11, not just the initial £10 you deposited.

A Fixed Rate Savings Account might come with a higher interest rate, giving you the chance to make more in the long run. These accounts are “fixed” for a certain “term” meaning you can access your money after the term has ended. An Easy Access Savings Account provides you with the ability to take your money out as you need to.

It all depends on your account!

For Fixed Term Savings Accounts, interest is calculated daily, paid annually and at maturity (the date your fixed term ends) into your Fixed Term Savings Account.

Because the rate is locked in from the start, you’ll know exactly how much you’ll earn by the end—making it a reliable way to grow your savings.

When you set up your Easy Access Savings Account with us, we’ll let you know what interest rate you’ll be on. Your interest builds up every day you leave your money – and you’ll get to see this added into your Easy Access Savings Account each month.

Yes, if you have an Easy Access Savings Account, you can withdraw your money whenever you need — just as the name suggests.

In a Fixed Term Savings Account, withdrawals aren’t allowed during the fixed rate period, but there are exceptions:

  • Cooling Off Period: You can cancel your account within the first 14 calendar days from opening your account
  • Exceptional Circumstances: We only make exceptions for extreme circumstances. See clause 2.6 of the Fixed-Term Savings Account Specific Terms and Conditions
